The handle is thinner than other slicers and so easier to grip and we have a larger rounded area at the base of the handle which allows your palm to rest and help guide the blade. All of the edges are hand-rounded and sanded to make for a smooth and comfortable grip. The ultra-sharp blade will slice easily without crushing or mangling.
- Our Wooden Handle is Made from Oregon Red Alder with a clear lacquer finish. Red Alder is a sustainable American hardwood that flourishes along the coastal range of the Pacific Northwest. Oregon has long lead the way in sustainable forestry and Red Alder is re-planted as it is harvested to ensure healthy forest for generations to come.
- Our Slicer is available in Natural Alder or Stained to your preference. Red Alder is known as "The Great Imitator" because it can be easily stained to resemble many other hardwoods. We use a food-safe dye to stain our Slicers to imitate Walnut, Cherry, Maple and Mahogany. A durable and beautiful hardwood!
- Each Slicer comes in a clear plastic sleeve for easy and safe storage. The Slicer also has a leather loop in the handle for hanging. We finish our Slicer with a food-safe clear lacquer to protect the wood. Easy to clean; simply wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Clean to blade with warm, soapy water and dry after every use to lengthen the life of the blade and keep it sharp.
